Review for 'Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen'

Prince Johanne of the North and Princess Euda of the South appealed to their parents to stop the war between the two countries. They tell them they love each other. The truth is - they can't stand each other!

But for the sake of peace between the two sides, they pretend to be deeply in love in front of the public. When no one is looking, they grumble at each other until someone walks in on them at which time they become lovey-dovey once again.

Of course, this is a shoujo manga and we expect that they fall in love with each other for real. And, they do.

The format is like a fairy tale story-telling, with something similar with 'once upon a time' and 'they lived happily ever after.' This is useful as a good recap for those who would read it after the previous volumes and I doubt if anyone would get lost in the plot. It is a fast-paced and straightforward manga. Just when you think you're getting tired of it, it flashes forward to six months later. It's that fast.

The manga dwells so much about the princess not knowing what she feels for the prince. She was quite dense about it, frankly. It takes the prince to point it out to her, of all people.

Anyway, it is a good read.
