CHAPTER 67:
Summary:
"Let's go back to Nike," Livius has excitedly said.
However, when they got back at the cottage, surprise greeted Livius.
"Eh...We can't go back...?" Livius asks, shocked. "Everything has been exposed? To the priests?"
Jishin holds up the parchment Cassandra received.
Livius quickly turns to Tsubai.
"Tsubai didn't do anything," Tsubai said without missing a beat.
Livius panic. "Why? Why? From where? Where?"
"Calm down, Chibius," Cassandra said.
Cassandra reads the letter again and says that if they can't enter the capital, they also have an excuse to break up Livius' engagement. It was like hitting two birds with one stone.
Livius tries to plead with Cassandra to help him still but Cassandra says she will still follow him. Livius has bravely cleared his trial. The pride of the forest witch will be tainted if she does not make true to her word.
"I will protect this forest and its people!" Livius vowed.
"Yeah, right now, that's the only thing we can rely on so grip tightly on your throne," Cassandra said sheepishly.
Cassandra then asked about the egg and Livius presented it to her so she can make it into medicine. Unexpectedly, the egg cracked and a live birdling got out. It quickly identified Livius as its mother to his surprise. Cassandra therefore had to settle with the eggshells and the golden feather to make the medicine.
In the meantime, Livius tried to think of something to get Cassandra into the castle. One random comment about Jishin not owning Cassandra sparked a memory in Livius' mind. It reminded him about the time his father, the King, had to fight the priests with Sheila at his side.
With that, he announced that he had found the solution. When asked how they'll get in without anyone noticing, he simply says he is merely returning to his home and that they will be passing right at the front door.
Livius then asks Cassandra to hold a town meeting. There, he divulges that Bianca is actually Livius I and that during his travel there, he has found how people valued their village and the forest. He asked that the people let him borrow their forest hero and that he, as Sun King, will protect the forest and its people. People react positively.
For his part, Bardwin goes out and reaches for a Rani that might help him with the priests, his brother.
