Spoilers on "Crazy Girl Shin Bia"

Have you ever encountered a manga (or in this case, manhwa) and didn't immediately read it although everything looks promising?

That is what happened to me in "Crazy Girl Shin Bia." Something about the cover turned me off. But! I promise you, as I would discover later on, that is just the cover. The art in the series is good!

Mangafox.me has this plot summary for the series:

"When a tough, lazy, money loving, yet beautiful high school student named Shin Bia jumps down from a building , she thought she would die but instead she falls into the era where the ancient Goryeo Dynasty ruled?! She had to transform into a proper and elegant lady and while she's there she faces many obstacles."

Of course, there is more to the plot than this will reveal.
And as usual, here are my spoilers.

Back in the days of the Goryeo Dynasty, there lived a beautiful woman named Celestial Bia. She is some sort of head priestess who lead the country's prayers, had healing powers, and the power of foresight. On top of that, along with her job, comes the qualification that she gets to be married to the next Emperor, Yoo Baek, a handsome and extremely skillful warrior.

The wedding is important as it will be simultaneously held with the coronation. They go hand in hand.

A few days before their wedding, Celestial Bia was able to see the future. She was not the one destined to be wedded to Yoo Baek. The person who was supposed to end up with Yoo Baek was apparently an alternate version of her.

Because of this, Celestial Bia made the preparations to leave her position and told her most trusted advisor to guide her alternate when she arrives.

On the day of the wedding, the convoy for the bride gets ambushed by an assassin called Black Panther. Celestial Bia fell off a cliff. But, before she touched the ground, she used absolutely all her power to summon her alternative self from another world.

In that other world, Shin Bia, Celestial Bia's alternate self, was trying to get away from a rapist and preserve her honor, she chose to jump off from the 18th floor of the building rather than be devoured.

Celestial Bia dies in her fall but Shin Bia immediately appears in the olden times, still wearing her high school uniform.

Shin Bia, at first, thought she was in hell or heaven. But the advisor would later on explain to her what happened.

The first one she meets is the Black Panther, who removed his mask, enabling Shin Bia to see who he is. Since she didn't know he was an assassin, she helped him fight off the pursuers (Did I mention she was some sort of top female gangster in her world?). She would later on discover that his real name is Mu Yeong, a captive of the Ju country (?). He is able to do whatever he wants though even though he was there by force. By the way, Mu Yeong is a prince of a fallen country.

Shin Bia would next meet Emperor-to-be and fiancee Yoo Baek. He kissed her.

Somehow, Yoo Baek managed to get Shin Bia to the palace and have her cared for.

But, Shin Bia is one restless woman. She tried exploring the palace and found Yoo Hui, another handsome warrior who likes to play the flute. He is also Yoo Baek's brother, second in line to the throne.

Why do I mention these three men?

It is because all three loves her. Oh my.

Anyway, the advisor told everyone that Shin Bia had an amnesia and could not remember everything. That is why she acts strange and forgetful.

Shin Bia would later feel love for Yoo Baek but she felt guilty. She believed that Yoo Baek loved the original Celestial Bia, not her. This is why she wanted to go back to her own world.

Mu Yeong then concocts a plan to return her to her own world, by going to a magical forest. There, they found that Celestial Bia had her body preserved so that a portal between the two worlds remain open just in case Shin Bia wanted to go home.

Shin Bia jumps in but Mu Yeong grabs her hand. It turns out that he liked her too much and wasn't letting her go. Next, Yoo Baek places Celestial Bia's dead body into the portal. It burns out and the portal disappears, leaving Shin Bia stuck in the olden times.

Does that mean Yoo Baek accepted Shin Bia?

Apparently, not yet.

Yoo Baek grew cold to her because he felt like he is betraying Celestial Bia. Shin Bia on the other hand accepted Mu Yeong's offer to be with him instead.

After a while, Shin Bia changed her mind because she was too much in love with Yoo Baek. She decided to go back against the wishes of Mu Yeong. When she got back, Yoo Baek wasn't exactly welcoming. Still, he let her do what she want.

Even Yoo Hui was affected. He told Yoo Baek that if he didn't want Shin Bia, he will have her instead, to which Yoo Baek did not protest.

Who does she end up with?

After an attempt on Shin Bia's life, but with Yoo Baek taking the hit, the two become closer.

But then, while Shin Bia was sleeping, Mu Yeong kidnaps her to make her his own queen! By this time, Mu Yeong has already left the palace and was starting a war to destroy Yoo Baek and his kingdom.

Mu Yeong becomes an obsessive lover at this part. For example, attempted rape, physical abuse, etc.

But, as fate would have handled it, Yoo Baek storms Mu Yeong's lair and was able to save Shin Bia.

Mu Yeong then tricks Shin Bia. He had earlier given her a special sword. He told her that he wants to give it to her (the sword is meant for the future queens of his kingdom). When Shin Bia accepts the sword, he pulls her to him, piercing himself with the sword. He has committed suicide.

Mu Yeong tells her that she had saved his life once, referring to the time when he fell on Yoo Baek's trap and would have died if Shin Bia didn't heal him. Since she was the one who have him life, she should also be the one who could take it away.

Anyway, a few weeks later, Yoo Baek and Shin Bia weds. Yoo Baek is formally coronated and Yoo Hui marries another girl.

During this time, Shin Bia explores the kingdom, acting like some sort of Robin Hood to the masses despite disapproval from the palace. Shin Bia and Yoo Baek would then explore the world for one and a half year, following the wishes of Shin Bia.

The end.

What attracted me in this manga was really the three love prospects: Yoo Baek, Mu Yeong, and Yoo Hui.

Out of the three, the most active are Yoo Baek and Mu Yeong. Yoo Hui is content to have an unrequited love. Mu Yeong, on the other hand, would fight until death his love for Shin Bia.

Who would have you chosen?

By the way, before I forget, Shin Bia was supposed to be the top gangster in her world. Why was she a bit useless in the olden times? Her martial arts suddenly became child's play with the likes of Yoo Baek. haha

Shin Bia goes on a hunger strike and was force-fed through the mouth by Yoo Baek.
Yoo Hui falters in keeping his feelings to himself.
Mu Yeong forces Shin Bia to be his queen, instead of Yoo Baek's.
